Cybersecurity Officer


Leading  company at Oman, Muscat. is seeking a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Officer to lead efforts in protecting our digital infrastructure, systems, and data. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures, monitoring systems for threats, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responding to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Security Strategy & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Ensure alignment with standards and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS.

  • Conduct periodic risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.

  • Coordinate internal and external security audits, addressing findings proactively.

Threat Detection & Incident Response

  • Continuously monitor network and system activity using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar).

  • Lead end-to-end incident response processes: identification, containment, eradication, recovery.

  • Conduct forensic analysis to investigate breaches and identify root causes.

  • Develop, implement, and test Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) plans.

Infrastructure & Access Management

  • Secure cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise infrastructures.

  • Deploy and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, encryption technologies.

  • Manage Identity & Access Management (IAM) with a focus on least-privilege enforcement.

  • Oversee patch management, system configuration, and hardening processes.

Cybersecurity Awareness & Training

  • Design and deliver training programs, including phishing simulations and security best practices.

  • Advise management on emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, OSCP.

Technical Proficiency

  • Experience with firewalls/VPNs (Palo Alto, Fortinet), SIEM, EDR/XDR tools.

  • Knowledge of penetration testing tools (Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite).

  • Understanding of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK framework.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.).

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to lead under pressure and respond to crises effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs).

  • Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell for task automation.

  • Proficiency in Cloud security tools like AWS Shield, Azure Sentinel.
